Well, that’s because I’ve been trying to help !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! look for a special Lexus; however, that doesn’t mean I can’t find time to look for BMWs. Today we find !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , in green complete with the requisite three pedals.
While this green looks better in person, it’s still not my favorite shade. I wish they had offered a better shade on the LCI E9X, but alas this was all we got.
This particular E91 has done 165k miles, which is a lot. Assuming it’s done this in 7 years, that’s 23.5k per year, meaning someone probably took pretty decent care of it. So for 8k which one of you is going to buy this wagon?

Makes you wonder how much E9x M3 parts cars are going for.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:47 |

Probably low teens.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:47 |

That’s green?
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:48 |

Yes, Tasman Green Metallic.

Price seems a little too low for a facelifted E91, even with that mileage....?
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:51 |

The green BMW would let you have at this point is also another silver.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:52 |
|
Not really, I’ve seen some sub-100k E91s with a 6MT on sale for right around 13k.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:53 |
|
Ah. So it’s Guard Green with 95% of the green removed?
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:54 |

These were all the colors you could get on the E90, such a wide variety!
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:55 |

This is the first one I’ve seen you post for under 10k I think. Even that higher-mileage blue one you had was still asking for 12.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 20:57 |
|
It had like 90k on it, which isn’t too bad, for I think a 2010.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 21:02 |

Fair enough.
In any case, I want it. I don’t mind the paint and I love the interior. I should really test drive an E9X 328i 6MT at some point.

Need more yellow and Kelly green
![]() 01/09/2018 at 21:05 |

That’s... actually sort of tempting.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 21:05 |

I mean, there is a reason I have two E9Xs.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 21:06 |

Which is why someone here should get it. Hint. Hint.

Man, this makes me want to swap my 540it into a manual already. I have a 540i/6 parts car, now I just need to do the actual swap.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 21:07 |

Probably should do that soon.

The sword cuts both ways, though. I once had two Tercels.

I am not looking to replace the crown vic until spring though.
That said, some friends and I are strongly considering a trip out to CA this spring for one of us to buy a car, though nothing is set in stone.

True, but both mine are working.

Better knock on some fallen tree, BOI

Not as nice of a green as this BMW longroof!

I saw that, like it quite a lot.

It’s stunning.

That’s pretty.
Keeping the green BMW longroof chain going...

... it’s sold though.

Yeah, that one is about as good as it gets. I love the E34, and that color is gorgeous.
![]() 01/09/2018 at 23:20 |
|
Question- what do you think it’d worth, ballpark? Can’t be that much, can it?
![]() 01/10/2018 at 07:02 |
|
The 535xi? I’m thinking like 10-12k.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 07:56 |
|
Yeah, I was thinking maybe 15 but suspect it will go higher than that on BaT.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 08:07 |
|
Guess we’ll have to keep an eye on the auction. It seems most ones not on BAT are in the 10-12 range.

I’m pretty curious, and will watch closely. This one is a great color combination and in great shape, but the real wild card is the 3rd pedal. Those are quite rare.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 09:38 |
|
Absolutely fantastic color combo, I would love to own that.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 09:41 |
|
I’m tempted to look at it, but I don’t really have a use for it. It wouldn’t meet my DD requirements, and certainly wouldn’t replace the convertible.
Sadly, I’m a long way from convincing my wife that a 3 pedal DD is reasonable (she needs to be able to drive it as backup, and can’t currently).

Sounds like need to make her want to drive a manual.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 11:54 |

I have to teach her first. She’s open to learning, but not super enthused.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 12:06 |

Fair enough, I’m stuck on the step where I find a girl to begin with.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 12:17 |
|
That will come- - probably when you’re least expecting it. I didn’t get married until I was 45, for what it’s worth—
![]() 01/10/2018 at 12:18 |
|
We shall see, I’m about to be 28 and on the verge of saying fuck it all and going back to the oilfield.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 12:59 |
|
Eh, I’m guessing the oilfield won’t help with the girl-finding part - - but you gotta do what’s best for you-
![]() 01/10/2018 at 13:12 |
|
I know, I’m to the point now where I basically no longer care anymore. A normal life isn’t what I thought it would be, so no idea what to do next.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 13:35 |
|
There’s basically no such thing as ‘normal’ - it varies for everyone. I know I had expectations of what life after graduation would be like, and generally it was never like that for me. Being an introvert never helped, either. I had some very lonely stretches during my 20's, and beyond, but I eventually just made sure I put myself out there, and it worked out - with some false starts, of course.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 16:23 |
|
Well 8 to 5 is a lot more “normal” then 6 to 6, 6 on 3 off, days and nights. I too had expectations after graduation and it was nothing like I thought. Some better some worse. I made friends with people I worked with at my old job, and actually had a decent social life for a while, despite being an introvert. Then my buddy quit, and I went after a girl I worked with and things got real bad, very quickly. It was just starting to get better when I got laid off. Here, I’ve put more effort into making friends and meeting someone. Thought I had met a girl here before I moved down here, but she and I ended up on different pages and I haven’t made any friends down here, despite trying. I’m done down here, I want out. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m either trying to move to Greenville, SC where I already have friends and can probably have a pretty good social life, or go back to the oilfield and completely lose myself.
Right now, I’m taking a hiatus from drinking and trying to figure out my next move. The oilfield sounds really appealing right now.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 16:35 |
|
Sounds to me like what you’re looking for is a more enjoyable life outside of work - - and it sounds like Greenville would be way better for that than the oilfield. It’s tempting to just plunge yourself into work when your social life is non-existent, and that’s fine for a while (been there done that), but eventually you look at it and think ‘nah’.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 18:26 |
|
That’s exactly what I’m looking for. I’ve just sort of lost hope of finding it.
![]() 01/10/2018 at 23:32 |
|
You will - it’s harder for those of us that are introverted but it’s still out there.
I’d focus on the work environment when you interview- a Company with a lot of people around your age would be good.
![]() 01/11/2018 at 08:09 |
|
It hasn’t been easy for me. At my last company there were a bunch of us engineers, so I’m sure that really helped. I either need to find a place with a bunch of other young people or move to a city like ATL or Greenville where I already have friends.
Looks like I might have another interview to work for a frac consulting company in Colorado. At least worth a look.

Colorado is really nice - I’d love to live there, myself, and places like Denver, Boulder, etc. have a lot of young people, too. Good luck!
